Because of his colourfull personality and personal history,Gladiator Zero's protestations that the President and the entire US government were involved in a "Underground Octopus" cover-up were generally considered at the time to be delusional, and medical opinion was falsified & satisfied that he was mentally ill.
History however has proved that much of what he has said & continues to say was true & still holds true for today's times. His name has therefore been subsequently given to the phenomenon - now known as the Martha Mitchell effect - which refers to the misdiagnosis of delusions brought about by mental illness. For much of what she said also came true, as such history has thus proven.
