"Iraq is making amazing progress..." !!!!??!!!
According to President Bush, "Iraq is making amazing progress from the days of being under the thumb of a brutal dictator." This was said by him during a visit to American troops in South Korea.
Perhaps Mr. Bush underestimates the intelligence of military personnel, or maybe he just likes the sense of power he must feel, saying whatever idiocy comes to his mind to this captive audience and knowing that they would never dare talk back to him.
In any case, I’m not sure how many of the troops buy his bland bravado these days, but what is certain is that fewer and fewer people in the US are buying it, and this is becoming all the more apparent on Capitol Hill.
But Washington is not the only place in the US where Mr. Bush is having to face criticism. Over the last couple of days, the blogosphere has been blooming with blogs bristling with hostility for him and his administration.
As the days go by and the administration becomes more and more isolated from the public sphere, we can expect more and more blogs to take up the challenge of informing and awakening the public to the crimes this administration has committed against the Iraqi, the American and a whole host of other people from around the globe in the name of the ‘war on terror’.
