Obscurantism (from the Latin obscurans, "darkening") is the practice of deliberately preventing the facts or full details of something from becoming known. There are two common senses of this: (1) opposition to the spread of knowledge—a policy of withholding knowledge from the general public; and (2) a style (as in literature or art) characterized by deliberate vagueness or abstruseness.[1]
In this article, obscurantism in the first and second senses are explained in the following two separate sections, respectively.
The first and older sense of the term 'obscurantism' refers to practices that favor limits on the extension and dissemination of knowledge. The Marquis de Condorcet wrote extensively on the phenomenon during the period of the French Revolution, when obscurantism was widespread among the aristocracy. Later, William Kingdon Clifford, an early proponent of Darwinism, devoted some writings to rooting out obscurantism in England after hearing clerics who privately agreed with him publicly denounce evolution.
Though often associated with religious fundamentalism, obscurantism is a distinct strain of thought: Fundamentalism presupposes a sincere belief in religion, while obscurantism rests on the deliberate manipulation of faith by an enlightened few.[4]
Obscurantists may be atheists or agnostics themselves, but believe that some form of religion or superstition among the masses is necessary for a stable society, and thus seek to limit to a select few the awareness of evidence that counters common belief.
Plato One powerful source of supposed obscurantism is found in Plato's Republic, where he advocated the use of the "Noble Lie," the lie that the philosopher king finds necessary to guide society. This notion is said to have been adopted by Leo Strauss and his Neo-conservative adherents.[6]

By the dictionary it sounds as if Terrorized (the Poster) was absolutely right in his post. Cruise missiles and nuclear bombs sounds like a threat to intimidate and subjugate to me. These people don't have the power to be Terrorist, but China, Russia and the U.S.A do have the power to intimidate and subjugate and use the threat of force against smaller less powerful countries , so by correct definition these big three are the TERRORIST. These little countries and people don't have the weapons or the power to be Terrorist, so they lash back out anyway possible in what others have falsely deemed TERRORISM but in true terms that realistically can be called HORRORIST. For they have brought their Horror upon the Terrorist and so Horrified the Terrorist that the Terrorist have now deemed them Terrorist.
Here is why we call them Horrorist not Terrorist for they are not powerful enough to intimidate and subjugate like the real Terrorist (i.e. China, Russia, U.S.A.)
Horrorist = one who brings Horror Horror = the strong feeling caused by something frightful or shocking (and they do this for sure) bringing forth strong dislike, disgust (and they are disgusting),repugnance, shuddering, aversion or loathing ( and their is a strong aversion or loathing to them), very bad, ugly or disagreeable (now those are the words that better describes these people not terrorist)

Militaristic Terrorism = We will Target, bomb and cruise missile you into the ground if you don't capitulate and do it our way for we haven’t the military might and you don't. The Romans called a gladiatorial contest a munus, that is, 'a duty' paid by descendants to a dead ancestor. The munus served the purpose of keeping alive the memory of an important individual after death. This reflects the origin of these games as funerary offerings to the dead.
Gladiator: The word gladiator comes from the Latin word for swordsman, from gladius, sword.

I've seen many a gladiator enter here with much the same look of confusion you show now. It may seem perplexing that beings with such a fragile grip on their mortal coil would fight and die so valiantly, even when they had everything to lose.
