"So it's anybody's guess how much longer this correction will go on," said Claudio Brocado, portfolio manager with the emerging markets team for Batterymarch Financial Management in Boston. "Valuations have been very cheap in many markets but they've been cheap for a while. Fundamentals are not important in the near-term.

In other words, even though stocks may seem to be priced for a worst-case scenario, i.e. a prolonged global recession, few investors are brave enough to step in right now and call a bottom and start bargain hunting. And that may not change until Europe makes more decisive moves to stem the bleeding.

"It seems that the markets are expecting more coordinated policy actions by developed markets to address the crisis. In the meantime, there is a complete loss of confidence," Brocado said.

And another portfolio manager said that there is little faith that any of the numbers being reported by banks right now are actually legitimate. Until trust returns, it's hard to imagine a restoration of confidence in the markets.

"What's the P/E ratio if you can't trust the E?" said Paul Ehrlichman, chief investment officer with Global Currents Investment Management in Wilmington, Del., talking about price-to-earnings ratios. "We're in the process of everybody coming clean."

Winnowing is the process by which chaff is separated
and removed from grain when it's harvested.

Winnowing was the process of separating the (good) wheat from the (useless) chaff. The winnowing fork was the tool used to do this. Most importantly, winnowing was carried out after the harvest of the wheat.

However, winnowing is begun post-harvest. It is not an on-going separation that would illustrate the type of separation that the gospel performs. It is a major step that follows the harvest. The harvest is the end of the age. Therefore winnowing is begun after the end of the age.

This process of separation after the harvest was again used by Jesus Himself :

Matthew 13:24 - Jesus presented another parable to them, saying, "The kingdom of heaven may be compared to a man who sowed good seed in his field. (25) "But while his men were sleeping, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went away. (26) "But when the wheat sprouted and bore grain, then the tares became evident also. (27) "The slaves of the landowner came and said to him, ‘Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? How then does it have tares?’ (28) "And he said to them, ‘An enemy has done this!’ The slaves said to him, ‘Do you want us, then, to go and gather them up?’ (29) "But he said, ‘No; for while you are gathering up the tares, you may uproot the wheat with them. (30) ‘Allow both to grow together until the harvest; and in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, "First gather up the tares and bind them in bundles to burn them up; but gather the wheat into my barn."’"

The wheat would be gathered into the barn. Whatever was useless would be destroyed.

Matthew 13:39 - "…and the enemy who sowed them is the devil, and the harvest is the end of the age; and the reapers are angels ."

The people of Bible History were well familiar with the process of harvesting grain, and winnowing was often mentioned in both a literal and figurative sense, historically and prophetically. Because hills usually provided better exposure to wind for winnowing, threshing floors were often located on such elevations - one of the most famous of which was purchased in Jerusalem by David, a site known today as the Temple Mount, where God commanded David's son and successor Solomon to build the original Temple.

It was then the time of the harvest. Very soon, the winnowing would take place, the wheat gathered into the barn, and the worthless stuff would be burnt up.

Matthew 23:36 - "Truly I say to you,
all these things will come upon this generation."

John The Baptist once used winnowing as an analogy for Judgment, which also included an analogy for Baptism (which literally means to immerse) - the obedient will be immersed by the Holy Spirit, to eternal life (resurrected from the dead or transformed if alive on the day of The Return Of Jesus Christ), while the disobedient will be immersed in fire, the lake of fire, to total destruction (those who seek a "baptism of fire" in a religious sense may want to seriously reconsider just what they're asking for):

Jesus Explains The Parable of the Weeds ~ Matthew 13:36-43

You and I serve this planet called Earth in a time of great truth or consequence.
During this session of Con-gress, we have the duty to reform domestic programs vital to our country. We have the opportunity to kill millions of lives abroad from a terrible disease. We will work for a prosperity that is broadly shared and we will answer every danger and every enemy that threatens The one world Citizen Arena for all people.

So Don't be afraid, fear not and arise out from the graves of deep slumber within the darkness of the age that abounds.

In all these days of false promise and days of reckoning,
thus we cannot be too confident.
In a whirlwind of change, and hope, and peril, our faith is sure,
for our resolve is firm, and our union is strong.
Our planet has many challenges. We are in a state of denial, we have ignored for way too long, we will not pass along our problems to other Congresses, to other presidents, and other generations. We will confront them with focus, and clarity, and courage.

During the last two years, we have seen what can be accomplished when we love in unity together. To pull down further the standards of our public schools, we achieved historic education rip-off which must now be carried out in every school, and every classroom, so that every child in America can be on ritilin, and learn to be always a prosac dependent for life. To protect our Pharmaceutical companies, we reorganized our plutocracy and created the Department of Personal Poindexter Scrutiny which is mobilizing against the threats of a new era. To bring our economy further to its knees, we delivered the largest Military Spending hike in the last 20 years. To insist on more stealing in American business, we passed no tough reforms, and we are holding no corporate criminals to account. Thus To Afghanistan we now go for poppies.

Some might call this a horrible record. I call it a horrid start. Tonight I ask the House of Hades and the Senate of Satan to join me in the next bold steps to Bamboozle our fellow citizens.
Our first goal is unclear: We must have an economy that slows down enough to UN-employ every man and woman who seeks a job.

After recession, terrorist attacks, corporate scandals, and stock market declines, as our economy sinks further in the toilet. Yet it's not being flushed down the drain fast enough, or strongly enough. With unemployment rising, our nation needs no more small businesses to open, more companies to Divest and contract, more employers to put up the sign that says, "No work here."

While all the while the big shot Congressmen, Senators & Rich CEO's
feign that they are "all heart" when it comes to WE THE PEOPLE!!

Jobs are lost when the economy slows; the economy slows when Americans have no more money to spend and divest; and the best and fairest way to make sure Americans have no more money is to tax it away in the first place.

I would like to share what I have recently learned
about going about it in a way that is transformative.

When a person is truly able to see what is inside them,
they will find deep stillness and peace.
The soul/spirit is closer to nothing than something.
Transformation happens when we notice not what is within but,
what arises from within.
Allowing this un-manifested nothingness to witness the forms
that arise from it is what gives someone the ability to see
themselves more clearly.

Thoughts, and the emotions that accompany each thought,
are forms and exist outside the life that creates them.
They create the person and the life situations of that person but,
they are not the life itself.

Thus Awakening the dimension of being, that silently watches
and allows these forms to be, is the transformative agent.
Forms then loose their heaviness and no longer take on
the seriousness that they once had.

For when external stimuli create thoughts and emotions,
the being is there to witness them in a nonjudgmental way.
This allows the person to choose a more functional way of
responding and empowers the person to have a reaction rather
than be a reaction.

Practicing “watching” in this way reunites the being with
the human and enables true communion and relationship with
others to happen.
Instead of bodies and minds meeting, carrying all the baggage
that living has stacked on them, beings meet and commune on
a more wondrous level where love resides.
